The weekend after our Team Brother Bear Garage Sale, TBB took over the Streets in Roncesvalles, Toronto to sell the remaining BBQ items so they wouldn't go to waste. After an afternoon of fantastic jingles, a little dance and tasty BBQ snacks, Team Brother Bear raised an extra $100!!

Team Brother Bear's Second Donation to b.r.a.i.n.child

On July 12th 2oo9, Team Brother Bear presented a cheque of $15,000 to the b.r.a.i.n.child foundation at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. This will be our second donation this year and is a huge accomplishment for TBB. We would like to take a moment and thank everyone who has helped make our mission possible.

Jade DiCicco of the Sick Kids Foundation presented Team Brother Bear with a plaque stating that we are now officially recognized by the Sick Kids Foundation.

This year we are taking it to the next level. We have received a permit to turn this Garage Sale into a Street Party with a series of family friendly events scheduled to happen in Oakville on July 11th 2009.

WE NEED YOUR HELP:
To ensure the success of last year we need your help, Team Brother Bear is c o l l e c t i n g donations that we could sell for this event.

We are here to help with your spring cleaning and looking for anything from Furniture, clothing, electronics, Decorative Stuff , Toys, Books, Movies, CD's.... Whatever you can think of or want to get rid of, Donate to an amazing cause!

We are also accepting food donations– Burgers, Pop, Freezies, Baked Goods whatever you can think of, if you bring it we will sell it and every single thing is appreciated.

If you cannot drop off your dontation, Pick up may be possible.

A little hair can make a HUGE difference.

After months of determination and patience, Wendy Medeiros finally had her hair long enough to give it to a greater cause. Medeiros cut off 9 inches of virgin hair at Evoke Salon in Toronto, Canada which she donated to the Pantene ProV Beautiful Lengths program on behalf of The Team Brother Bear Foundation. It is selfless acts like this that allow Team Brother Bear to remain inspired and constantly ready to fight for our mission.

COPA Benefit for Team Brother Bear

On February 22nd, 2008 Point Park University's Dance and Theater Clubs presented A Benefit For Team Brother Bear. The event was a student run fundraiser to promote the collaboration of the arts and charitable work. The night featured an opening speech by Team Brother Bear Chair, Addison Brasil, followed by an evening of great performances.

St Andrews Catholic School Students Make a Donation :)

During the Christmas season, the students of St Andrews Catholic Elementary School decided that rather then doing a Secret Santa, they would to give the money that would be spent on gifts and donate it to charity. The class voted on Team Brother Bear as their charity of choice. Bringing in over $300, Team Brother Bear is truly grateful for this generous donation.

B.R.A.I.N. Child Donation

On November 28th 2008, Team Brother Bear made their first donation of $15,000 to the B.R.A.I.N. Child Foundation. A percentage of their donation will go towards brain tumor research and the remainder will go towards b.r.a.i.n. child's family fund.

Representing Austin Brasil, Kimberley Brasil presented a cheque of $5000 to the B.R.A.I.N Child foundation. This money was raised by Austin earlier this year in hopes of giving others strength when standing up to cancer . This money is the motivation behind Team Brother Bear and is the continued inspiration of why we will continue to pursue this battle.

In October, Mother Teresa Elementary School re-routed their annual Terry Fox march so that the school could walk past the house of Team Brother Bear's Honorary President, Austin Brasil. Students and Teachers wore t-shirts with Austin's picture and the word "Champion" to support Austin and his vision of Team Brother Bear.

But together we’ll echo and carry his rhythm in harmony.

A Night Dedicated to the Vision of Austin Brasil

Jordyn MacFarlane has been growing her hair since Austin Brasil’s diagnosis in 2005 to donate to Angel Hair for Kids . On August 19th Jordyn auctioned off the scissors to cut her hair. This generous action will create a wig for a child who loses their hair due to treatment.

BBQ / GARAGE SALE FUNDRAISER!

Currently we are taking the steps we need in order to become a registered charity and get this started, but to do so we need your help…

On Saturday July 19th 2008, Team Brother Bear will be hosting a community garage sale/BBQ in Oakville to make the funds needed to get our organization up and running. We are calling out to see if anyone is interested in donating… well, basically anything; Clothes, toys, furniture,

electronics, nik-naks, art, music, books…. Honestly, anything helps and everything is appreciated.

We will also be serving goodies so if you want to drop off any snacks or treats, that works too… seriously, ANYTHING goes. so start putting things aside, coz this is gonna make a big kinda difference.

All funds raised will be going towards the start-up costs for team brother bear and the first annual launch party/fundraiser that we are planning to have in august.
